FAR CRY 5
« on: March 30, 2018, 01:45:26 AM »
WELL I MUST SAY FARCRY 5 HAS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. GOOD Storey LINE  excellent graphics . there is a big boss kill at end of each area you take.  .game play a mix of updated farcry 2 and grand theft auto 5.  lots of missions. good weapons to unlock and buy and modifications.also buy hellies and cars to mod. co-op mode works well have had switchless and ppc2000 join in game no problems.    not looked at map editor as yet.   games runs smooth no bugs as yet and no patches.     (did ubisoft get some one to make the game for them?} i would give it 9 out of 10  hope a few of you get it and make some sniper maps  6v6 players. quack for now. ;D

OK , I bought it, 8 gig of 23.5 gig downloaded, prolly be Friday before I have it set to go if I just D/l at night.

I'll prolly look at the editor first thing, but I have quizzed several of the gamers who work at Lowe's and they all seem to like it, but almost all have it on Play station or X-box, not many PC'rs at work

OK, My IP evidently upgraded me as the game d/l twice as fast as I thought it would, I did a quick benchmark with the game determining my optimum settings, and I am quite happy, it looks great even on the lower settings  Benchmark :  https://www.screencast.com/t/8p6oPFjiLQ    These are the specs of my current build : https://www.screencast.com/t/muwChQJj5S  with windows 10     Edit: Just opened up the editor, looks kind of familiar :   https://www.screencast.com/t/eTKsgYx0Nu

I'm going to get suckered in!

Rhett, why's your benchmark at 1280x720 resolution?

I'd put on vsync, fps > 60 (monitor refresh rate) is pretty pointless. Bump up the res to your native res (1920x1080), see how that goes. Bump up settings and shoot for maybe 40-60 min/max.

I just let the game pick what it wanted for the first Benchmark , I have since tried the Geo Force optimal settings and tried a few of my own, as long as I get around 50 fps I will be happy, funny thing is, no matter what I do the game really doesn't change appearance much, but that is ok, it looks great.

Like Clivo said, they must have had someone  else make it for them !

I am slowly working on a sniper map, but there is lots to learn , way more options than the last time, but I like you can have a sniper rifle in the editor, it makes spacing a lot easier

I'll dig into the editor soon! But first, some PLAYING. Graphics are pretty good! Tutorial/intro sequence is pathetic. Loved how, after I walked 1/2 way through the first little town/church, the game told me to use W to walk forward. Umm, yeah, DUH -- like I've already been doing for the last 30 seconds.

The Editor is coming to me slowly, so much more than in FC2, I have been working on a remake of Ollie's arena (sniper) because it is small and should work well to jog my memory, here is what I have so far, but it's in no way done and I may not even publish it when it is !    :     https://www.screencast.com/t/87moFGFd
